With the attention on stop-arm violations and cameras designed to catch drivers who speed around stopped buses, it is easy to forget that many schools don’t have the resources or budget to implement these high-tech video and audio systems.
The majority of the systems featured in recent news stories focus on the state-of-the-art, high priced cameras and recording systems, even though there are a large variety of these systems available for buses that are often far more comprehensive and cost-effective.
School Transportation News recently shared the announcement of one such system, which claims to be able to provide cutting-edge technology capable of monitoring bus drivers, passenger behavior, and even record conversations and accidents. While your fleet may not need all those bells and whistles, the announcement provides a good example of just how much large the bus safety and recording industry is.
