In the past, I’ve talked a bit about the history of school buses and how they became such a prominent part of transportation and education in North America and even around the globe. But, school buses aren’t the only mass transportation vehicle that has undergone an extensive transformation from their earliest versions.
Like school buses, mass transit buses began as basic horse-drawn carriages designed to carry more than the average number of passengers. Since then buses have remained an important part of our landscape but, as the infographic below shows, the buses have shaped into those we know and recognize today.
