American school buses may just be the most versatile vehicle around. Sure, most buses spend their lifespan transporting students to and from school each day, but some buses go on to live another life after they are retired from standard use.
This short documentary shares the tale of one such bus, which served a school district before being retired and sold to a Belgian couple by the names of Val and Tim. Perspective Pictures chronicles the journey from an IndieGoGo campaign to a full-fledged traveling “adventure hostel” called The Nomads Bus.
Following your dream and converting your own bus may seem daunting, but Val and Tim are a perfect example of what can be accomplished if you set your mind to it and you’re willing to put in a bit of elbow work. As the couple says, if you’ve ever considered converting your own bus into a living space, restaurant, or anything else, “Don’t think about it, just do it.”
