Last week, California celebrated School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, but other states are taking the time to honor their drivers and transportation administrators and staff this month.
The Ohio legislature named the first Monday in May as School Bus Driver / Aide Appreciation Day each year, setting aside a day to celebrate and acknowledge all the hard work and patience drivers show every day as they transport more than 15,000 students to-and-from school and to school-related activities.
School buses are statistically the safest mode of transportation available, in part because of great skill and care of the drivers tasked with getting our children home every day.
